• Brass/Teflon/S.S. cladding
• Asbestos/Canvas reinforcement with solid /hollow bulb at the centre or at edge.
• Rubber Gate Seals prevent flow of water past a closed gate. They are either provided on the gate or on the metal frame in the gate slot. They are used in Tunnel Spill Ways, Head Regulator of Hydro Channel, Forebay, Intake Structures, Bye – Pass Channel and Draft Tube of Power Houses etc.
• ‘SOFTEX’ Brand Rubber Gate Seals are normally manufactured from Natural Rubber compound or a copolymer of Chloroprene, Butadiene and Styrene or their blend.

CLADDING

• We also do cladding of seals with Teflon (PTFE), Brass, Stainless Steel (SS) to reduce the impact of frictional forces. Teflon, because of its lowest coefficient of friction is the most favored cladding material.
• Normal thickness used for cladding is 1.6 mm for Brass & 1.0 mm for Teflon.

SOFTEX Conservator Bladders, also known as Air Cells, are fully collapsible bladder tanks which are readily fitted into the conservator vessel of utility transformers. Aircell For Oil Filled Transformer. These air filled bladders are designed to expand and contract with the transformer oil so as to isolate that fluid from the atmosphere. Conservator bladders are open to atmospheric pressure and exclude moisture, dirt and oxygen from the dielectric oil chamber. SOFTEX conservator bladders exhibit superior flexibility which allows instant volume compensation as the transformer oil expands and contracts. Maximum chemical and abrasion resistance are achieved by a double-layer coating of SOFTEX’s unique rubber compound. Superior puncture strength is also provided by a high-tenacity nylon mesh insert fabric.

In addition to their superior strength, flexibility, chemical resistance and ease of installation, SOFTEX’s onservator bladder tanks are remarkably inexpensive. Custom conservator bladders can be quickly built to any size, complete with flanges and fittings.

FAULTS & REMEDIES:

• The Aircell is manufactured considering all aspects of transformer application. In normal course of use, handling, storing, fitting, the Aircell will give good service. However, in case of mishandling or accident, the fabric can get ruptured or the joint may open, leading to leakage of air in conservator. For major damage, the Aircell will have to be returned to our factory. Please note that it will not be possible to depute our representative to site to assess/inspect the damage/fault.
